Human Resources Coordinator

In this exciting role, you will work closely with our Human Resources Director to support and engage the ASBC staff and culture as we continue to evolve with our growing membership.

What You’ll Do

HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Be the first point of contact for HR inquiries, resolving Tier 1 issues (benefits, policies, payroll) with empathy and accuracy.
  • Own onboarding/offboarding: Coordinate welcome kits, IT setup, exit interviews, and asset retrieval.
  • Maintain HRIS (ADP) and audit data to ensure 100% compliance (I-9s, EEO reporting, policy acknowledgments).

Volunteer Coordination and Compliance

  • Process background checks for staff, volunteers, and Church Council members.
  • Schedule ASL contractors for services and events.
  • Coordinate volunteer training compliance.

HR Process Optimization

  • Identify bottlenecks in HR workflows (e.g., onboarding, performance reviews) and propose solutions.
  • Document SOPs and assist with HR tech implementations (e.g., LMS, ATS).
  • Assist with HR/Operations technology implementations (e.g., ATS, LMS, or Concur).

Administrative Backbone

  • Reconcile benefit invoices, prepare HR reports (headcount, turnover), and manage confidential files.
  • Assist the Finance team with bi-weekly payroll coordination.
  • Schedule interviews and meetings for the HR team.
  • Support employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, and department events.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 1–3 years of HR experience (nonprofit/church settings a plus!).
  • Tech-savvy: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and database systems.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP) are a bonus.
  • Heart for service: patient, professional, and passionate about supporting staff and volunteers.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, courteous demeanor and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse group of people.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard hours: Tuesday – Friday, 9 AM – 7 PM (10-hour shifts)
